A brilliant episode.

Doctor Gillespie had a new method for disarming bombs, considered something of a crank by Ash, he is frustrated at being required to assist, the pair soon forge an understanding, and are called on to tackle a real bomb.

Excellent, absolutely excellent, this has definitely been my favourite episode thus far, it's an excellent story, has great characters, with some real conflict, and a really dramatic ending, one I'm certain most people wouldn't have been expecting.

Judy Geeson and Iain Cuthbertson are both genuinely excellent as the Father and daughter, Ash definitely bad a bit of a twinkle in his eye.

Wonderful production values as you'll have been used to by now, that car is incredible.

The standard of this surprised me, excellent, 9/10.

Testing a new method

As usual, each episode is tense, the entire premise of the show is very tense, because of this each episode is a quick watch. You never know, just like the characters never know, when a UXB will X, so most of the show you are on the edge of you seat.

I liked this particular episode, Cast Iron Killer, which is on Disk 1 of the Season 1 DVD set, in which they are testing a new method to try and disable a UXB which has lodged in the bowels beneath a train station.

I won't tell you what the method is and I won't tell you what happens, watch UXB and see.

As good as the last

Like the previous episode, this is really strong and effective, with plot twists galore. It feels very much like a stand-alone thriller of the week and yet it layers in the characterisation too.
