In 1858, Abraham Curry (1815-1873) and three partners bought 865 acres (1.35 square miles) in Eagle Valley for $1000; one of his partners gave the name Carson City. He did try to pay the surveyor with a block of land.
In March 1860, Abraham brought his wife, five daughters, two sons-in-law, and grandson to Carson City; he also had a grown son who had come to Nevada with Abraham. In this episode, Elvira is six years old (the actress was nine), but in reality, she was married with a child.
