- Dharma accepts an invitation from a performance artist (Bodhi Elfman) to spend a week in an art gallery on display to the public.
- When Dharma finds her friend Terry the performance artist is in Frisco, she immediately accepts an invitation to participate in his latest 'play': being live exhibits in a gallery for a week, which gets extended to a month. Greg didn't see the point in it but let her go. Larry, who is thrown out by Abby for feeding the baby meat, moves in and drives Greg nuts, even climbing in his bed stark-naked. Even Dharma slowly starts to realize she should give priority to her marriage.—KGF Vissers
- Larry is against teaching numbers and alphabets to little Harry.
An old performance artist friend Terry of Dharma's is in town. Terry performs live performance art in public places, due to which Greg had to bail him out of jail. Terry was having a bath at a public fountain with a loofah. Dharma used to do performance pieces with Terry all the time. Once he tried 500 pieces of shoes in front of a public monument in Berlin. He even built a giant cage and ran inside it like a hamster. Terry says that his new series is called "private acts in public places". Terry says that he wants people to ask "why" and consider the possibilities.
Terry convinces Dharma to co-star with him in his latest work: To live "on display" in an art gallery 24 hours a day for a week. Dharma says that it has been ages since she has done something that expresses her own personality like going Trick or Treat in April or taking a job as a translator at the International House of Pancakes.
Needless to say, Greg's not thrilled with her decision, and father-in-law Larry's moving in with him does not help matters. Abby throws out Larry for eating meat and offering some to little Harry as well. Larry moves in with Greg & roams around naked. Larry sleeps on Dharma's side of the bed. He has no sense of personal space.
Greg reaches out to Dharma for advice, who asks Greg to try comforting Larry. Greg says that Larry spooned him in his sleep and now Greg wants to peel off his own skin. Dharma cannot leave the exhibit and asks Greg to handle the situation by himself. She says eventually her parents will make up and Larry will go back to Abby.
Meanwhile Abby and Larry continue to have sex in Greg's apartment (In his kitchen), since they keep their emotional fights separate from their physical needs. Abby says that Greg is very picky about his bed, and they wanted to respect that.
Greg begs Dharma to return home as Larry is driving him crazy and he calls Terry performance art piece absurd. People are lining up to see Dharma naked when she changes her clothes. Greg is forced to support Dharma as doing weird things is her "thing". Dharma says that Greg cannot decide what is important for Dharma. Larry burns Greg's sofa and angers him. Larry says that he knows that him living with Greg is increasing his stress levels and causing the fight between him and Dharma. Larry even broke Greg's garbage disposal.
Terry tells Dharma that he might extend the piece by a month. But Dharma wants to do the piece. But Dharma is worried that her marriage is at risk. Meanwhile Kitty is embarrassed when Dharma's art piece is mentioned in the papers, while mentioning that Kitty and Edward are her in-laws. Kitty wants Greg out of their will.
Edward, Larry and Pete gather at Greg's apartment and start complaining about how their women are trying to control them. Greg realizes that the guys are the problem, and the women are just trying to save them from getting into more trouble.
Greg goes to Dharma and says that even though he does not understand her choices, he will support her no matter what. Finally, as the art piece gets extended by a month, Greg moves in with her in the museum.
