- Dharma thinks her birth led to the demise of her father's past musical career. Edward's old running suit hits a sour note with Kitty.
- When Dharma starts a very amateuristic radio station in the living room, Greg jumps in opposing callers' conspiracies and other loony theories, yet finds the right tone to handle the audience, but is ignorant of one technical kink. Surprisingly the most requests are for a good song by - Larry, so Dharma wants him to perform at an open night. - Meanwhile, Larry and Abby set up some old pirate radio broadcasting equipment in Dharma's living room to give her something to do while she's recuperating. The signal strength is over 2 megawatts. Larry used the equipment in the summer of 1982 when he could not leave the house, as the air was too thick, and the ground was too soft. Greg says that one needs a license to operate such an equipment in the country.
While rummaging through the records to play on the station, Dharma finds a record of Larry singing in a band. Dharma plays the record on the radio, and soon it is the most requested song on air.
Dharma learns that her dad, Larry, used to sing and play guitar in a band but gave it all up when she was born. Larry knew that he would have to be on the road a lot. Feeling guilty, she tries to convince him to perform again. She takes Larry to open mic nights at the bars. Larry is very reluctant to sing and says that the audience doesn't want to hear an old guy like him sing on the stage. Plus, he has not rehearsed. Dharma says that Larry can come back the following week and sing then. But Larry puts his foot down and says he won't sing, ever. Larry asks Dharma to let it go as he is the father and he said so. Dharma asks Larry not to use her as one of his excuses and leaves the bar. Dharma reaches out to Larry and apologizes for calling him a loser. She says that she should be proud if Larry gave up his music career for her sake. Larry tells her that he was rejected by record companies (he has 5 boxes of rejection letters) & that he didn't quit just because Dharma was born.
Initially, Greg scoffs at "Radio Dharma". Marci (Helen Greenberg) is Dharma's sidekick. The signal can be picked up as far as the local laundromat. After one on-air debate with a caller in which Greg is able to set the guy straight about his facts on music history and is appreciated by the other listeners for the same, he's hooked. The listeners call in to say that the world needs people like Greg to shut off the idiots who simply like to run their mouths off. One caller talks about a baseball conspiracy where the balls are controllable, as the same players are hitting are far more home runs now than before.
Greg even starts a radio based legal advice service. Marci points out that the transmitter to the radio has been unplugged for the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Edward's old running suit hits a sour note with Kitty when it is discovered "lost" in a box of Greg's old possessions. Edward has been looking for the suit for 20 years as they don't make it like those anymore. It is burnt orange and made of corduroy, and Edward refuses to stop wearing it. Edward is very comfortable in his running suit and even wears it to his business meetings. He has also stopped wearing underwear and questions why he ever did wear it. Edward goes to dinner with Kitty, Dharma and Greg in his suit. Kitty puts her foot down and says that she won't stand his suit anymore and storms out. Edward tells Greg that soon Kitty will get used to the suit and then he will take it off.
