- Greg planned a nice anniversary holiday with Dharma, but she can't help promising to her parents to join their hippie celebration of Abby's 'spiritual birthday' and to Kitty to spend equal quality time with the Montgomerys. Thus Greg and both elderly couples find themselves lumped together in Ed's country retreat, a sure recipe for almost instant bickering. It gets so bad, as the Finkelsteins mount a tent camp with ludicrous demands against the 'hypocrits', that Dharma finally admits Greg is right, five years of reconciliation attempt achieved nothing. Meanwhile Greg left Pete to meet an SEC official, but her sex-appeal decided him to overstep his courtesy-only instructions.—KGF Vissers
- In the first part of this special one-hour season and series finale, Dharma and Greg find themselves once again trying to make peace between their polar opposite parents when an argument breaks out over whether the couple will vacation with the Finkelstein or the Montgomery. Finkelstein want to take them camping, while the Montgomery want to spend time with them at a wine tasting event. Abby says that they are celebrating the onset of her womanhood. Kitty says that they have already paid for a non-refundable trip to Napa Valley.
Dharma, in her spirit of honesty, says that Dharma and Greg won't be vacationing with either of them. They have decided to spend their vacation along at the Montgomery Mountain chalet. This offends both parties and they leave.
Dharma tries to appease both sides by arranging for everyone to spend the weekend at the Montgomery's Mountain chalet. At first Abby guilt rides Dharma into inviting her and Larry to their chalet vacation, and then Greg forces Dharma to invite his parents as otherwise they would make their lives a living hell. The Montgomery didn't know that the Finkelstein were also invited, and the other way around as well. They come face to face at the chalet. The usual bickering and insults kick into high gear, it finally sends Dharma and Greg over the edge. Dharma believes that this is great chance for their respective parents to work things out between them, but Greg is not hopeful at all.
Its starts with Larry breaking a $6500 lamp. Kitty is furious with Larry. Dharma gets everybody to do role playing exercises to express their feelings and to improve communications. Kitty wants Larry to pay for the lamp. Kitty wants the Finkelstein out of the chalet. Greg wants to leave and stay in a hotel, but Dharma wants to keep the family together for their future kids. Dharma is not ready to give up on their parents.
But then Larry and Abby go on protest outside the chalet and Dharma has to mediate to bring them back to negotiate. Kitty is again furious that Larry ruined a 430 thread count Ralph Lauren bed sheet. Larry wants homeless people to be given rights to bathe in the hot tub. All seems settled when Abby says that they are taking the kids with them camping and Kitty reacts badly to it. She says that the original plan was for the Finkelstein to sleep in the woods, so they should be the ones packing. It is snowing and freezing cold outside. The bickering starts again. Dharma gives up and leaves with Greg. Dharma takes Larry's van to leave. The van gets stuck in the slushy off road conditions. Soon, Dharma and Greg are stranded in the middle of nowhere.
Meanwhile, back at the office, Pete is left in charge of a routine SEC inspection, but when the agent turns out to be beautiful and female, he invents wild stories about inside trading to keep her interested and to get her to spend time with him. He indicts the company in SEC charges just to sleep with a sexy investigator.
