A dance studio owner is murdered when a cane he is holding during a dance routine malfunctions and "shorts out his pacemaker". It is quickly determined that someone tampered with the cane. First of all, the cane is in the victim's right hand. There is no pathway to electrical ground; the victim may have felt pain in his hand, but otherwise electricity should not have traveled to his heart; second, the victim uses his left hand to grasp the right side of his chest. That's the wrong side of the body, the heart is on the left side. Finally, Dr Sloan was present when the incident happened and within seconds began to administer CPR and immediately directed that someone call 911. Dr Sloan's prompt efforts should have saved his life.
