It isn't my favourite episode, but it's wonderful, and I will try to explain my reasoning for the high score. It's one of the least funny episodes, but such is the skill of Wood's writing that you're left feeling incredibly sad, firstly because of the death of Stan's dad, who interestingly enough was a desert rat, and secondly because of Bren's soft, kind heartedness towards her mother. They really did their best to make Petula more outlandish, more vulgar, once again though she steals the show.
In a sense they're all victims, they're all just making the best of what they have, some just try that bit harder to make life better for others.
Not as funny, but incredibly moving, 9/10.
