This episode is from 1971. Another one shot on film and entirely on location. Another desolate area of London docklands. This one has a gaswork due to be demolished and later to be regenerated.

In his introduction Sergeant George Dixon chats about people who go missing in London.

A night watchman Forbes in the derelict gasworks who found himself locked in.

The police find some possession of a housewife who recently went missing.

Colin Warren is the husband of the missing woman. They have been married for a few years. He claims they had a happy marriage.

The woman going missing is in the background of women being attacked in the nearby canal towpath for some time.

Both the husband and Forbes are potential suspects. Colin Warren has not been entirely truthful, it turns out he was cheating on his wife. Forbes has mental health issues in the past.

A slow burn episode. Some atmospheric photography. A policewoman is called in to walk up and down the towpath to entice any potential suspects.

It leads to a dark and sombre ending. Although the early part of the episode was rather lethargic.
