The title comes from the World War I and World War II recruitment posters showing the picture of Uncle Sam telling people that he wants "YOU" for the Unites States' Army.
Two of the juvenile guest stars in this episode, Eddie Rosson (remembered as the young boy briefly interacting with Phil Silvers in It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World (1963)) and Kevin Tate (who starred as the young boy taken under the wing of Tony Randall's title character in 7 Faces of Dr. Lao (1964)) would both die way too young during the nineties--Rosson on September 19, 1994 at age 38 and Tate on September 30, 1999 at age 44.
Episode director Lawrence Dobkin had worked with guest star DeForest Kelley as a fellow actor in among other things the film Illegal (1955) and would the following year direct him again in Charlie X (1966), the second aired episode of Star Trek (1966).
