Mrs Sunshine Pound (Kathleen Freeman) tells Sergeant Friday (Jack Webb) and Officer Gannon (Harry Morgan) that the homicide victim's husband was a Nisei. In Japanese Nisei means "second generation" and is a Japanese language term used in countries in North America and South America to specify the ethnically Japanese children born in the new country to Japanese-born immigrants (who are called Issei).
About halfway through the show, Friday and Gannon are walking on the sidewalk towards the suspect's house. They walk past a red, 1967 Plymouth Barracuda. This car played a prominent role as a stolen car in the episode titled "The Hammer", which aired eight shows previously.
This episode aired three days before guest star Sharann Hisamoto"s sixth birthday (born 04-27-1961).
At the very end of this episode, a unique version of the theme music can be heard with a Japanese-inspired instrumental style.
Kathleen Freeman also appeared in Dragnet (1987).
