- Martin isn't happy with his current girlfriends brain, so he finds a new one smarter than him, which proves to be even more stressful and intimidating.
- Martin Tupper is a guy who is easily intimidated by both certain situations and certain people, so this episode explores that premise when he is introduced to a woman who impresses him with her ability to converse eruditely on virtually any subject. While alone with her in a romantic setting, he accidentally discovers that she is a member of MENSA, the famous (and real) international High IQ society, which was formed in the United Kingdom in 1946. Membership in this fraternal organization is limited to those people who can prove, through the results of a proctored or verified intelligence test, that they have a so-called Genius IQ that ranks them in the 98th percentile, meaning that their IQ score on a particular examination is higher than 98% of those of the same gender and age who took the exact same examination.
This sudden revelation is slightly disturbing to Martin, because he tends to feel somewhat intellectually inferior in comparison to her, and their budding relationship is affected by it. Also slightly touched upon in this episode, is the fact that some female members of MENSA (actresses Geena Davis and porn star Asia Carrera, as two examples) have a tendency to try to conceal both their intellect and MENSA membership, believing that either may ruin their chances for having a meaningful relationship with a man who might be the kind of guy who interests them, but not be their intellectual equal.
