I felt like I was watching a slapstick classic, with the highlight being its good-natured fun, and one of the nicest casts to have ever graced a TV series. Which I was, indeed. Here there was the slapstick and most of the sense of fun of the early physical comedies, revived after 60 yrs, and none seemed to have recognized them, because they haven't been told to like things that get cheered only when in the disguise of the self-important spoof, and not in their genuine form; this is the episode where the travelers befriend a bear, and have a party, while the wagon-master Callahan is away. One enjoys the gags, but feels more inclined to mention the audiences' shameful apathy, and quite crass obtuseness. But the cast enjoyed themselves. Charming and good-natured comedy, regardless of the complainers.
