The "freeway on-ramp" bridge shown in the opening rescue was filmed on the transition road from the westbound Interstate 210 to the southbound Interstate 5 in Sylmar, California. When this episode was filmed in the fall of 1972, the 210, 5 and 14 freeways were closed, having been severely damaged in the February 9, 1971 Sylmar Earthquake (the 210 was actually under construction at the time, and not yet open to traffic). The bridge used for this rescue scene survived the quake, but as the transition road continues off camera, away from the accident scene, there was another section of bridge that collapsed entirely during the earthquake, falling directly onto Interstate 5 below (killing two).
The transition road bridge was rebuilt, and re-opened by late-1973.

The segment in which Jamie Farr was to appear was moved to Boot (1973), but his credit remained attached to this episode.
