Measles and Cookies
JordanThomasHall2 May 2017
Seaman Crump (Gerald Trump) unknowingly throws his shirt on a tanning lamp being used by Seaman Di Julio (Harvey Lembeck). It creates odd red-shaped spots on his face, causing acting captain Lt. St. John (Jack Mullaney) to think he has measles and quarantine the USS Appleby. The crew spends their time on 116 contest entries that they mail. The medical officer rules out measles and the quarantine is ended. Di Julio receives a telegram informing him that he has tied for 1st place in the Fluffy Flower Cookie Contest with cookies St. John's mother baked. Now he must compete in a winner-take-all televised bake-off on the Fluffy Flower Cookie Hour. They must come up with the recipe, and trick Ensign O'Toole (Dean Jones) into dissecting the ingredients using a microscope. Di Julio struggles time and time again to bake an edible entry. At last he comes up with the right combination and prepares in front of the cameras for the bake-off against a sweet, old lady who gives the men a hard-luck story.

Operation Contest
Prismark1027 November 2023
It starts off with a crewmember getting measles and the rest of the crew spending time on quarantine.

The crew spend their time entering contests only to find that they have a chance of appearing on television.

A cookie bake off competition with a large cash price. Only they need to come up with a recipe and Di Julio needs dozens of attempts before he can bake a decent cookie that tastes nice.

On the day of the competition. They meet their fellow competitor at the television studio. An old lady with a hard luck story as to how useful the cash would be to her. It tugs their heartstrings.

An episode where Ensign O'Toole has less to do. The twist regarding the sweet old lady was easy to see.
