- When Ray and Debra find out a bully is picking on Ally, Ray decides to investigate.
- Ray and Debra have differing points of view on how best to handle the situation when they learn that Ally has been bullying another child on the school bus. Ray thinks Ally's pushiness and "don't take any crap from anyone" attitude comes from Debra. Meanwhile, Debra thinks if she doesn't instill that independence in Ally, she'll end up being a wuss-just like her dad.
- Ally says she is being bullied on the bus by a boy named Todd Feeney, and Ray is very concerned. Debra says it is nothing serious and Todd is simply calling Ally names. Debra wants Ally to deal with it on her own, but Ray's family interferes. Frank and Robert both want Ray to take matters into his own hands. Robert offers to check if the boy's family has any pending tickets or warrants. Frank wants to get the boy and his family and decides to driver over to their house with Robert. Debra stops them from doing anything.
Ray and Robert say that they were bullied on the bus with wedges and wet willies, but Debra was the popular one and hence can never understand what Ally is going through. Marie offers to call Feeney's mother and take care of it. Debra asks the family to back off and do nothing.
Ray rides on the bus with Ally and talks to the driver Dottie (Janet Dubois). Ally is not happy that Ray is riding on the bus with her. None of the kids would allow Ray to sit with them, so he has to sit all the way at the back. Ray discovers that Ally is actually the bully, and the boy Todd Feeney (Cody Morgan) whom she complained about was actually defending the little girl Judy that Ally was bullying, who was also his little sister. Ally was picking on Judy Feeney. Judy wears big thick glasses and Ally says that she looks like an owl. Ally also hoots at her saying "Judy Hootie, she's got Cooties".
Ray returns home and tells Debra that Ally is the bully. Debra is not fussed by this and says that she will talk to Ally. Ray says that neither he nor Robert were ever like this. Ray accuses Debra of being the role model to Ally and basically says that Ally is the bully because of Debra's dominating attitude towards him. Debra was "popular" in school and hence never went through bullying herself. Debra says that she is independent and self-confident and is teaching Ally to be the same and Ray simply can't stand that as Marie taught him to be totally dependent on her, and that's how Ray wants to raise Ally.
Marie and Frank find out about Ally's bullying on the bus. Marie tries to take charge, but Debra asks her to back off. Debra and Ray then have a talk with Ally. It's difficult for them and they both don't agree with each other's parenting styles. Debra helps Ally realize that what she did to Judy was not nice and that they want her to be nice to the other kids. Ally promises to be good. Ray takes credit for getting Ally to behave nicely as being nice is his whole thing. Ally also complains that due to Ray riding on the bus with her, she is now called "Baby Ally, and her dorky daddy".
Robert and Ray make some mean sounding names for Debra. "Debra-Debra, real good looking, never want to try her cooking".
