- Raymond loses $2300 to Frank in a poker game, and Frank refuses Marie's demands to give the money back.
- Frank has one more spot to fill in a poker game at Nemo's Pizza and asks Ray if he wants to join. Reluctantly, Ray agrees to it. During the game, Ray eventually wins a ton of money, but makes a horrible mistake and ends up losing it all to his father, Frank. Debra then becomes upset and demands that Ray ask his father to give him the money back. Of course, Ray refuses. Marie tries to force Frank to give the money back, and even Robert steps in to solve the problem. After a long discussion, Frank realizes that a son should be able to come to his father to make everything right. So he then gives Ray back his money...to make things right for his son.
- Debra had asked Ray to go grocery shopping which he did not want to do.
Frank walks in and invites Ray for Poker night with his buddies. Ray didn't want to go, but Frank emotionally manipulated him into going. Frank cannot take Robert as he is a cop and is very sensitive about this gambling thing. Frank says that this is the way they make up for lost time, as they didn't really talk much or bonded when Ray was growing up. Frank's buddies used to make fun of Ray due to his freakishly big head.
They had 4 players and needed a fifth. Players are Frank, Garvin (Len Lesser), Nemo (Joseph V. Perry) & Stan (Victor Raider-Wexler). Ray starts off very well and cleans the table. The dealer changes the game to a 5 card draw and no replacements. Ray gets arrogant and goes all in and loses. Frank had cautioned Ray against going in too aggressively. Frank thinks that Ray is showing off. Debra finds out that Ray lost $2300 to his father while playing poker at Nemo's with Frank's lodge buddies. Ray says that Frank kept goading him to fold like he was a little kid. Debra is angry as they have 3 kids to put through to college. Plus, they were also saving to buy a bigger home away from Ray's parents. Debra wants Ray to go over and ask for the money back. Ray says that if he goes to ask for the money back, he will be called a baby.
Marie pushes Frank into Debra's house. Marie wants Frank to return the money, but Frank says he won it fair and square, and he wants to teach Ray a lesson. Robert is angry that his family broke the law by gambling. Frank says its OK as nobody got hurt.
Debra and Marie team up to get the money returned. Marie tries to give Debra the money back from her savings (which amounts to $46000), but Ray won't let her. Marie has saved this money over 45 years with Frank and Franks knows nothing about this. Marie and Debra had tried to hide the money from Ray, but he found out as Debra and Marie were both smiling when he walked into the room, and that had never happened before. Debra then sneaks the money into Ally's piggy bank, but Ray returns that cash to Marie in front of Frank.
Frank is still adamant to teach Ray a lesson. Marie stops talking to Frank and Frank is even happier about that. Robert says that he will have to arrest Ray and Frank, unless he is assured that no money changed hands after playing the poker. Robert wants Ray to squeal against Frank and his friends. He plays the good cop, bad cop routing all by himself as he is alone.
Eventually Frank returns the money as he realizes that a boy should be able to go back to his father and the father should be able to make things OK. He returns Ray's check. Robert starts to cry as things worked out in the end.
