These Guys Couldn't Stop Robbing Banks
ccthemovieman-127 May 2008
Warning: Spoilers
A clever thief named Terry Conner figured out a scheme to rob banks and get away with big money. He, along with a partner, would break into a bank executive's home and terrorize the family overnight. The next morning, the two of them and the executive would go to the bank and, with the latter's help, would rob the place. A third crook was used as a lookout man.

You'd be surprised how often this worked and drove the FBI crazy for a number of years. The FBI has jurisdiction in bank robberies. In took several years to get Conner, his partner Joseph Doherty, and a couple of the lookout men. Robberies took place in Oklahoma, Arizona, Wisconsin and Illinois.

The really bizarre thing was that these two were caught - on separate arrests - and were being escorted to a trial when they escaped and then began robbing all over again. They had received contraband while in jail and picked their handcuffs while in the back seat of the transport car. Talk about embarrassment and frustration. The cops were really fuming, now.

While watching this show, I wondered why these thieves couldn't stop robbing banks. It must be addictive. If they had stopped after their escape, they might still be free but another robbery did them in.

These two thieves are now in different jails, serving life terms. They don't dare put these two guys near each other, where they can plot more escapes.
