A top-notch episode....and the same subject matter dealt with in some later blaxploitation films.

"The Deadly Pact" is a very good episode of "The F. B. I." that features several excellent black actors...actors who rarely were given many opportunities back in the day. Ivan Dickson and Hari Rhodes are two exceptional black actors of the era...guys who really helped make this a top-notch episode.

The plot, oddly enough, is something that was explored in quite a few blaxploitation films of the era. It consists of the mafia trying to take control of organized crime in the black community. The F. B. I. Know this sort of thing is coming, and so they send an agent to infiltrate the loan sharking business run by Dodds (Rhodes)...a man who, himself, if controlled by the mob. As for Dodds, he and his controllers have their eyes set on a business run by Mr. Maynard (Dixon)....a hardworking guy whose company is experiencing financial problems.

This show is an excellent look at some of the ways organized crime operates. The acting is quite good, the script taut. Well worth seeing....like nearly all the episodes of this excellent series.
