Decent...but not spectacular.

"The Target" is a decent but not especially great installment of "The F. B. I.". I say not especially great because the plot seemed a bit mundane and the resolution came a bit too easily...reducing the level of suspense as you watch.

Then the story begins, you see a man (Eric Braedon) sneak off a merchant ship in the port of Tampa. In his haste to escape the port, he drops his knife...which has microfilm within it. The security guard got a decent look at the guy and he's soon identified as a communist agent...though the microfilm is not the main reason he's in the country...the main reason is he's there to kidnap someone. Can the FBI get to him in time to stop him?

As I mentioned above, the resolution came rather easily. However, the acting was good and I had no major complaints. It is funny, however, that this show is supposed to take place mostly in South Carolina...and the coastal portion at the end clearly is NOT the Carolinas. I used to live in the area...and it's very flat and green. However, in the finale, there are huge cliffs and lots of brown scrub...just like the California coast. I can't blame the folks who made the show, as it wasn't like they could afford to do location shoots all the time. But it did make me chuckle.
