Carmen : Pascale, you have no idea how happy Bieke is. She claims she's never been happier.
Pascale : Really?
Carmen : You won't believe it but she loves to drink a glass of wine with dinner. She's so easy to be with.
Pascale : See? What did I tell you, Oscar?
Oscar : [keeps reading his newspaper near the counter] She must have changed.
Carmen : I don't mean to pry but I simply don't get why you're on completely different pages with her.
Pascale : We're not on different pages.
Oscar : She's on different pages with us.
Carmen : I'm not surprised.
Oscar : What's that supposed to mean?
Carmen : Yesterday, I've read there's no such thing as troubled kids, though there are troubled parents. Anyway, bye.
[she leaves]
Pascale : See? I always said you're too tough on her.
Oscar : You always said I wasn't strict enough. It's you and your whining.
Pascale : Oh, I've done it again! And you? You're always being angry over nothing!
[she storms off]
Oscar : [speaks up madly] I'm angry, you say? I'm the least angry person on this planet!
[to team mascot Jefke]
Oscar : And you have to shut up, alright?
-
Pascale : [opening lines] Bea*trijs*, get up!
Oscar : Is she still in bed? Me, back in the day...
Pascale : You allowed her too much.
Oscar : Sure, it's my fault again.
Pascale : Before you know it, she'll get into real trouble.
Oscar : Pascale, don't exaggerate will you?
Pascale : Here it is. What did I tell you? A letter for her from the police.
Oscar : Oh boy. And, what does it say?
Pascale : Fines. One for excessive speed. And one for insulting an official on duty.
Oscar : What? Bea, come down right away! This will be handled quickly. Bea?
Bieke : [she enters from the kitchen, dressed up] Yes, what's the matter?
Oscar : Ah there you are. You're up.
Bieke : *Still* up, you mean.
Pascale : Where have you been?
Bieke : To a Publitime reception. I stayed a little longer.
Pascale : A little? The whole night.
Oscar : Surely we can't ask what you've been doing there, can we?
Bieke : That might be for the better, yes.
Pascale : You should be ashamed, Bieke.
Bieke : Why?
Pascale : [she shows her the fines] Here's why. You don't think we're going to pay for that, do you?
Oscar : Yeah forget about that.
Bieke : How dare you open my mail?
Oscar : Mind your manners, will you?
Bieke : I don't have any privacy, do I? This place is worse than prison.
Pascale : Apparently *that's* for the better.
Bieke : You forget I'm an adult.
Oscar : Then behave like one.
Bieke : If it's like this, I'm out of here.
[she stands up to leave]
Pascale : Then you should do that.
Oscar : Yes, then we'd finally get rid of you!
Pascale : Oscar, don't yell at your daughter like that.
-
Pascale : Here you are.
Xavier : Alright, Mr. President. Cheers.
Boma : Cheers.
[they share a drink]
Xavier : Mr. President, Carmen said she discovered an attic in your house.
Boma : Yeah no wonder, it's an impressive piece as well. Way too big, you must know. Did you know there are rooms I've never been in?
[Pascale rolls her eyes, Doortje enters]
Doortje : Pascale, I thought you raised your daughter better than this.
Pascale : Excuse me?
Doortje : Because you guys are arguing, she shouldn't be destroying families, right?
Pascale : What are you talking about?
Doortje : She wants to *steal* my Pico.
Pascale : Please, Bieke doesn't do such a thing.
Doortje : Ask her yourself.
Pascale : Alright, I'll do that. Bea*trijs*?
Boma : Well, what's this we're hearing from Bieke?
Pascale : Balthazar, you don't understand. You don't have children.
Bieke : [Bieke enters the cafe from the kitchen] What?
Pascale : What were you doing at Pico and Doortje's?
Bieke : Nothing. Pico suggested staying there.
Doortje : I suppose so. If you look at him with your cow eyes.
Bieke : Well, should you always look at those stupid glasses then?
Boma : [he laughs] Ladies, be a little polite, huh?
[Dimitri enters the cafe]
Dimitri : Good evening everyone. Bieke, I need to talk to you about an ad in Publitime. I'm renting out a room. Maybe you're interested?
Xavier : She's got better addresses, Dimitri. Like the luxury room of a sausage producer.
Boma : Hey she'd be blessed.
[as Dimitri looks disappointed]
Boma : Wall-to-wall carpeting everywhere, a hot tub, a sauna. Great luxury, that is.
Bieke : Alright, then I'll move in with you. That way Pico will remain virginal.
Boma : [in French] C'est arrangé. A young chick and I. Let her rip.
[he laughs]
Xavier : Right, and you give her one of those rooms you've never been to.
Doortje : [to Bieke] Sleep where you want, but not in my bed.
Boma : No, it's gonna be mine.
[he's in stitches again]
Pascale : Balthazar, can I talk to you for a second?
[Boma and Pascale head for the living room]
Dimitri : Bieke, here you go.
[he offers her a lease agreement]
Pascale : Balthazar, sit down. I'm going to tell you one thing. If you even think about taking her in, I'll never look at you again.
Boma : Pascale, I was just fooling around there. I don't want her to come live with me. I can be her father.
Pascale : Alright then. I can understand her threatening to leave home. But doing it effectively?
Boma : You can count on me.
[she starts crying]
Boma : Pascale, come here.
[he comforts her, Bieke catches them]
Boma : I'm here as a counselor, you know.
Bieke : They all say that. So what's it gonna be? Are you renting to me?
Boma : [he gets up from the couch, he approaches her] Bieke. I can understand that you threaten to leave home. But do it effectively?
Bieke : I get it already. But don't think I'm changing my mind. Before I go, one more thing. Continue to counsel my mother, would you?
