- Nancy Olson: [after Tootie intimates that she knows a secret about Roger] Roger? What about him?
- Dorothy 'Tootie' Ramsey: Maybe you wanna hear it from someone who's had her guts ripped out by love.
- Nancy Olson: [getting impatient] Tootie, what are you talking about?
- Dorothy 'Tootie' Ramsey: Oh, you don't want to hear it from a kid.
- Nancy Olson: [picking up a globe] Tootie. Have you ever swallowed one of these?
- Dorothy 'Tootie' Ramsey: [after setting the record straight about Mrs Garrett] Well, that's about it.
- Edna Garrett: Tootie...
- Dorothy 'Tootie' Ramsey: Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Blair, do you know that secret you told Jo about Roger and it was only between the two of you? Well, it was between the three of us.
- Blair Warner: [Both Blair and Jo stand up] You sneaky, rotten little blabbermouth!
- Jo Polniaczek: Yeah. I got bad rapped on account of you, you little creep! I'll get you for this.
- Blair Warner: Not if I get her first!
- Dorothy 'Tootie' Ramsey: Gee. They're taking it better than I thought.
- Mr. Harris: Mrs. Garrett, word of your drunken spree has spread all over the campus.
- Edna Garrett: What is being spread all over the campus could make the petunias grow!
- Dorothy 'Tootie' Ramsey: Well, I'm glad everything's settled.
- Edna Garrett: Whos, hold it Speedy, you're not out of the woods yet.
- Dorothy 'Tootie' Ramsey: Whatya mean?
- Edna Garrett: Well, there's the matter of war reparations you have done. Now, since you insist on wagging your tongue, wag it over these.
- Dorothy 'Tootie' Ramsey: What are those?
- Edna Garrett: Invitations to the alumni dance. The envelopes have to be sealed. All one thousand of them.
- Dorothy 'Tootie' Ramsey: Just call me Tootie Chapstick.
- Edna Garrett: Don't forget the stamps.
- [goes towards the kitchen]
- Edna Garrett: Tootie?
- Dorothy 'Tootie' Ramsey: Yeah?
- Edna Garrett: We're still friends.
- Blair Warner: [flowery top] This will be perfect for our day at the museum... don't you think?
- Edna Garrett: Oh, yes, Blair, the Picassos will be looking at you.
- Blair Warner: I can't wait to get back to Manhattan. Especially Bloomingdale's.
- Edna Garrett: Now, Blair, this is supposed to be a cultural field trip, not a shopping spree.
- Blair Warner: I know, I know,
- [dreamy-eyed:]
- Blair Warner: but it's been so long since I've heard the clickety-click of a credit card machine. It's agony going cold turkey.
- Blair Warner: Really, Mrs. Garrett, if I don't spend some money soon, I'll pull all my hair out!
- Jo Polniaczek: Terrific! We can finally find out what color the roots are!
- Dorothy 'Tootie' Ramsey: Monopoly, Nancy? I'll start you with an extra ten thousand.
- Nancy Olson: Can't, Tootie. I've gotta do something with this dull hair. Roger expects it to shine.
- Jo Polniaczek: Try Turtle Wax!
- Natalie Green: How do you like these jeans for the trip?
- Edna Garrett: [enthusiastically] Very nice!
- Jo Polniaczek: Yeah, very sexy!
- [nods]
- Natalie Green: [strikes mock pin-up pose] Pack up, Brooke Shields, you're through.
- Blair Warner: I wouldn't. But I need something sneaky done, and you're the best. Now promise me you won't tell.
- Jo Polniaczek: Look, where I come from, you squeal, and they ship your tongue to Cleveland.
- Blair Warner: [smiles] Great. Now listen. Saturday night in New York, I'm gonna sneak out of the hotel.
- Jo Polniaczek: Big deal.
- [but outside the door, eavesdropping Tootie is surprised]
- Blair Warner: If Mrs. Garrett comes around, you have to cover for me.
- Jo Polniaczek: Why? Where are you gonna be? At the bank, visiting your money?
- [chuckles merrily]
- Blair Warner: You don't need to trouble yourself with the details.
- Jo Polniaczek: Then I don't need to trouble myself with a cover for you either.
- Blair Warner: All right. I'll be out with Roger.
- Jo Polniaczek: [surprised] Roger?
- [Tootie clasps her hand over her mouth]
- Jo Polniaczek: You mean the Roger that's going steady with Nancy?
- Blair Warner: [changing subject] Uh, as I was saying, Halston really has a terrific line.
- Jo Polniaczek: Yeah, I've been out with him. You really can't believe a word he says.
- Nancy Olson: Don't play innocent with me, you sneaky, slimy man-stealer!
- Blair Warner: How dare you call me slimy?
