Terrible take on depression and attempted suicide with inappropiate comedy.

Warning: Spoilers
Andy wants to ger his ear pierce, much to Beverly Ann's disapproval as she says no to it. A social worker from Jo's community centre threatens to jump off the roof.

In season two's 'Breaking Point' there was a suicide. It was a well-done episode, where humor was in the right places and a deep sense of sadness was in the right places. Here, we have, I don't know what this is? Jo is trying to help a depressed member of the community, Melissa, who has run away, then Sandy, the social worker wants to jump off the roof. Sandy says it's because of her job. But real depression is complex and there is more to it, such as whatever else is going on in her life. But no, the show says it's her job that causes it and that's it. I'm surprised the woman didn't show up with a gun and start shooting everyone then herself. Oh yeah, it's 1988. The gun mass-shootings widespread phenomenon have taken place in the last 20 years.

To top of off they had humor at all the wrong moments, inappropriate comments and all. It was almost like they were mocking depression and suicidal behavior. Mocking the mentally ill. Just not good.

This almost felt like a spinoff attempt with Jo on her way to becoming a social worker and working there. It seemed like they have been setting that up all season. But I never read anything to that effect anywhere.

There was some other story about Andy getting his ears pierced or something like that. I mean, like, who cares!? 2/10.
