The One Where Brian Gets Addicted To Cocaine...
taylorkingston28 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I love this episode. It's so funny because Brian is a dog. How could this even happen?

In this episode, Joe sees how much of a good nose Brian has and recruits him onto the police force. But after bringing down a few perps who had cocaine, Brian gets a taste for it and becomes addicted. It changes his entire personality, making him even more of an annoyance than usual. He eventually tries to find it anyway he can, and gets kicked off the force. He sees how much he's hurt his family and volunteers to go to rehab. Earlier in the episode, Peter had won a work competition for a paid vacation. But instead of going on vacation, The Griffins spend that time taking Brian up to his rehab facility. Peter decides he likes it there, and pretends to be a drug addict so he can get admitted. Peter convinces Brian to do lots of crazy stuff, and eventually Peter gets kicked out. At the end of the episode, Brian runs off to Hollywood, where he'll try to do things better.

Overall, I give this episode an 8 out of 10.

Funny stuff

Great episode! Compare this one to the recent 2 seasons and you would almost think you're watching a totally different show. Also compare Stewie's depiction here versus the current seasons--he's a total fop now, and not funny at all. He had a great line in this one "Oh, splendid! Fido McCoke-fiend is home" I love the Bullwinkle parody (how many viewers was this lost on?). I also liked the David Letterman spoof too. In fact, the older shows had many takeoffs on older television shows, which were very clever. I tried watching the latest episode today and could not sit through it. It was just not funny at all.

This and the follow-up episodes are great, especially Stewie's attempt to hypnotize viewers on Bill Cosby's show. Funny stuff.

Brian becomes a cop and, in true Family Guy style, becomes a cokehead! This was another episode I would rewatch endlessly back in the day -- definitely a fun one.
