Busted (#2.19)

Warning: Spoilers
In this episode we once again get to see two characters to be in equivalent situations. This time it is Eddie and Carl who both get themselves into trouble and then instead of admitting try to save it until it fails at the end.

Well, Carl's story is a bit different since he admitted because of bad conscience, not because he was arrested like Eddie. So I guess this is why his punishment was not so bad.

I did like Carl's part with the ashes. I mean it is silly he would think it is a candy jar, but him dealing with it was very funny, as was his reaction to what he did.

And I kind of liked the setting of the underground gambling. One really wouldn't think that!

Warning: Spoilers
So "Busted" is the ninetenth episode of the second season of "Familly Matters" . The title of the episode has a double meaning, or I must say, the same meaning with a double example. Eddie crashes the car (has any of the writers ever thought of a plot line for Eddie where he doesn't just crash or mess up something?) and when he's afraid of being #busted , he agrees to get into gambling so he can pay the damage and avoid Carl finding out with the help of Steve . Carl on the other hand has a much simpler but much funnier situation, when he accidentaly dumps Aunt Clotilda's ashes on the garbage bag, thinking it was a candy jar. Although I felt the episode was a little bit week in Eddie's premise (being always the same), I felt the way it was handled worked, and Steve is as funny as ever in this episode, just a great character all around, the opening gag with Richie and Judy (they still exist) is a pretty lame one however. "Steve! Why did you give me this...this....THIS?!" "Because ...I love you...love you...love you!!" The way it ended with Carl reprimending Eddie , and a couple of minutes after Harriet reprimending Carl exactly with the same words, it was actually efective and my favorite part of the episode, while it's funny just for itself it ties the both stories (for people who hadn't understood the parallel) and also shows how a parent has to give a lesson, but sometimes doesn't act by it. Smart and surprisingly good episode, if with some cliche points. 7/10 ******* Peter Shelby .

Warning: Spoilers
It's always fun to see Steve letting a little loose. I respect him and his ideals, but everyone should take some time to unwind every now and then. In my mind, gambling doesn't push the envelope that far, so it's fine in my book.
