Farrah-mania: Tina Louise here sports the "winged-do" or another hairstylist's attempt at recreating the iconic Farrah Fawcett-Majors hairdo, who sported bouncy curls that cascaded down the sides of her face. Unfortunately, it seems as if most hairstylists went by a photo of a different woman's unsuccessful attempt at such a hairstyle. As is the case here, most recreations aren't quite accurate, leaving them with up-turned curls brushed towards the back of head, and which are then stiffened with hairspray. This was a beauty craze by women who wanted to copy anything Farrah Fawcett-Majors did at the time, including trying to resemble her by doing their hair like her. The results were often more or less disastrous---as is the case here. (Angela Bower in Who's the Boss is another such botched example).
