This is the first episode I have seen of this series. It has Tom Bosley as Father Dowling who also played the Sheriff on "Murder She Wrote" and Tracy Nelson as Sister Stephanie aka 'Steve' Oskowski who is funny and smart.
This episode starts with a man getting shot several times and ends up driving his car to the church Father Dowling is at hearing confessions.
The man dies in the confessional and Father Dowling calls the police. By the time they come the man's body is gone. He knows there was a body and he tells his sidekick Sister Steve about the dead man. The next day he sees the dead man's picture in the newspaper where it was dumped.
Father Dowling and Steve set out to find out who this man is and why he was killed.
There are several gangster like people some trading drugs and others selling guns. Father and Sister Steve secretly get into buildings and situations that are very dangerous. Many scenes are tense and keep you on edge and some very creative and funny how they get out alive or unseen.
I find that religion is not put down but used in a respectful way. This is the first episode. It is a long episode. It is 1 hr 27 min on Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVTb255awNQ See it while you can.
