The lingerie department is that of 'Dunnes' in the town of Ennis, Co.Clare (which the series is shot in and around). Funnily enough, it is, as of this writing, the largest lingerie department in Ireland.
When Mrs Doyle is trying to guess Todd Uncious' name she reads out Neil Hannon who is the lead singer of The Divine Comedy, the group who performed the theme music (and the track Songs of Love, based on the theme)
Before the Golden Cleric Award ceremony a man comes up to Ted and Dougal and asks who's who. Dougal says "I'm Dougal and that's Ted" then Ted replies "No I'm Dougal and HE'S Ted" while making hand gestures. Both the dialogue and hand gestures are just like a scene from a Laurel and Hardy short with Oliver Hardy doing the hand gestures and mixing up the names.
Ted finds a baby mistakenly left on the front door step of the house. The baby was played by the newborn daughter of the lady who owned the house where the outdoor scenes were shot.
