- Cade investigates a small town plagued by rain for more than three years.
- Cade poses as a bounty hunter and travels to a Washington State lumber town, pretending to look for a fleeing murderer who has disappeared. The town sheriff orders Cade to leave and not bother anyone, but Cade decides to stick around. It turns out that no one in the town is willing to give him any information about the missing man, even though Cade finds proof that the man definitely came there. What he does learn is that it has not stopped raining on the town for two years. Eddie suggests that the weather could be a Gua psychological experiment to see if depression can push humans to extremes. Sure enough, the people in the town -- desperate to stop the deluge -- have turned to sacrificial Druidic rites to stop the rain. Can Cade convince them that the rain is part of an alien experiment before he becomes the next sacrifice?
