Joey
JordanThomasHall5 October 2018
The convent is subject to comical pranks by one of the children, Joey (Eric Shea). One hilariously saw putting a "Just Married" sign when Sister Jacqueline drove the bishop to the airport. Successful stockbroker Mr. Sanders (Robert Lansing), a former orphan at the convent, returns to see the convent. He wishes to pay forward the good will shown to him and adopt "the dumbest kid in school" because he was once that student and they're the ones "that need adopting the most". Reverend Mother Placido is at first offended by the description, but notes the most "underachieving" is Joey. She suggests he take Joey on a picnic to see how they get along. Joey asks to speak with Carlos who advises the boy to be on his best behavior. On the picnic Mr. Saunders finds Joey to be too polite and mannerly for his liking. After finding the change came from Carlos' talk they agree for another outing to discover the real Joey.

The writing and dialogue is sharper in this episode than most from the final season. Nevertheless, it doesn't live up to its potential, in my opinion, losing steam as it goes along.
