Ken Christy is a police detective on the trail of an info leak in the department. Someone is tipping off the local mob about the times and places of police raids on bookmaking joints.The mob bumps off Christy as he closes in on the informer. A fall guy is needed and Robert Sterling fits the bill. Sterling is an ex-con just out of prison on a gun charge. Since detective Christy had been the one to send Sterling to prison they believe his murder was payback. Sterling swears he is being set up and offers to help the police nab the crooked cop. It is let known in the department that Sterling does have info on Christy's killer. The police then set Sterling up in a hotel room and wait to see who comes calling. This is a great fast paced bit of noir.
