distracted by the wigs
macbethp25 February 2021
I thought at first this was a retrospective with actual scenes from earlier episodes, couldn't figure out why the hair was so bad! their hair never looked like that! but otherwise a funny, touching episode, with a nice cynical twist at the end.

Great episode

Great episode that is not a flashback, but a good way to reminisce the show.

Crock Tales

I thought this episode was a nice way to celebrate the show and remind you of key moments without doing the dreaded flashback episode to save time/money/effort in the dying days of the show. I remember 'Friends' pulled this trick in its own last series, with the flashback sequence lasting nearly as long as the new material.

This is actually one of the better episodes from the eleventh and final series, and it's a shame that they didn't do more episodes that celebrated what made the show good during this final run, rather than the seemingly endless run of bad dates for Frasier themed ones we had to go through.

Good stuff.

Intelligent

Warning: Spoilers
Sorry but this episode is supposed to be outrageous the show ran forever. Seriously a amazing show always leaves a smile on my face. Of course the wigs are dumb they put together a great show. From Kenny as the pizza dude to the obvious bad wigs this is a show that never failed to be ridiculous and hilarious. It's a intelligent show pretty sure they knew what they were doing. I absolutely adore Niles and Daphne every season you could feel his attraction turn to love for her. Amazing show. Amazing people. Hopefully we never have to suffer through a pathetic reboot. Too good a show to screw with and ruin.

A good performance by the ensemble cast. Thanksgiving Day at Frasier's home is re-enacted; the cast is brilliantly made-up.

Warning: Spoilers
Frasier reminisces over memorabilia - in this case, a crock pot.

The episode is a good performance in terms of acting, dialog, a watertight storyline, and above-par make-up.

The time chosen is Thanksgiving Day, and rewinds to the day in the years 1. 2003 2. 2002 (with Niles and Daphne returning from a trip) 3. 1999 (with an Uncle Sam impersonation by Frasier on the occasion of the Fourth of July, and him, Roz, Daphne, Niles and Frasier getting locked out on the balcony) 4. 1998 (Daphne has just joined the Crane household just as Frasier and Roz are unemployed, and Niles has taken to drink while staying at the Shangri-La due to his bitter divorce with Marris. Roz has gained employment as an explicit call-line voice attendant. Daphne is trying to be on the good side of everyone (especially Niles), while fretting over the possibility of getting sacked) 5. The last flash is to 1996, with another good act pulled off by the cast, going back to the roots of the (then) newly-united main cast of Frasier, Martin, Niles, Daphne and Roz. The setting for all of these flashbacks is Frasier's apartment's living room and kitchen.

great but the wigs are distracting
nickb-2281328 August 2021
I've always found this episode to be charming and sweet albeit the wigs the actors wear that are way too distracting. Frasier reminiscences on the past eleven years via memories associated with a crock. Maybe not the second to last episode fans would've wanted but still charming nevertheless.

Overall a very good episode
twanster-9765526 September 2019
Warning: Spoilers
If niles and daphny had got together during moon dance then the show would of been able to maintain quality and longivity but unfortunately they dragged it out to long and the show suffered because of this.. Its the same with frasier, if they'd of stopped the silly but constant womanising and actually written in a character for frasier to fall in love with keep then the show would of grew and lasted alot longer as they come to terms with settling down and raising kids. Instead tho we watch frasier sleep with many woman then ditch them.. Meaning the show lost substance and the characters went from being loyal, loving and caring to cheating womanising pigs before it ended. Dates always had to go to their places and always ended up being dumped after they'd slept with him.. I hope if they ever relaunch frasier, they end this silly cycle before he catches something.. Lol Anyway this episode is pretty good. Better than the final ep where frasier loses another woman and meets another 🙄..

Wig Problem
noellenicholls-8801927 July 2019
If you're not a hardcore Frasier fan, this is awful but after seeing every episode 20 times I would say it's a cute idea going back in time over the entire series. I understand using wigs to make them look like they did in past years but did they have to buy the wigs at the dollar store? Was it intentionally campy? Or did it just come out that way? It's cute if you don't expect too much.

Unbelievably mediocre
hcolesmith26 March 2018
Hair and makeup...yikes.

These episodes where you go back in time can either serve as interesting character studies or just a bit of fun. This one is just a bit tedious and the payoff is just a little lame. It's a shame considering this is one of the final episodes.

Not With a Bang, But a Whimper

Considering this is the next to last show of the series, I would have expected the writers to be at the top of their games. A retrospective of some rather innocuous events is a bit disappointing. I never watched this show when it was on and have really liked the experience seeing all the episodes.

So bad it's good
julieb-35-32799110 October 2023
Everybody on staff at the show must have already flown the coop to new jobs because, wow, so bad! As a fanatical fan of this marvelous series, it's actually kind of fun how they went so low. The horrible wigs had to be intentional. Like, "We're outta here! Screw it!" The plot was just so-so and really kind of all over the place, especially considering the visual conceit that probably started off as their focus. If you're a true fan, don't dismiss this episode; instead, appreciate it for the potential drinking game that it is. And have everyone vote for their favorite wig. Mine is Roz's wig mid-way through the episode. It's like she was someone else entirely. Of course, then there's Kenny's, which is truly awesome.
