A great character story.
Sleepin_Dragon6 June 2022
Tommy Morrissey has the perfect con, a massive swindle, and a fall guy in place to take the blame, the fall guy comes in the guise of down on his luck Captain John Oates, with Gamble away, it falls on Sergeant Hicks to crack the case.

It was quite a bold move at the time, to have an episode where the second in command, namely Hicks, takes control, credit to Joanna van Gyseghem here, her best, most accomplished episode so far, she was great.

I really did like the story, very clever, very well plotted, this is the first time I've felt very sorry for one of the characters,

Graham Crowden, a favourite of mine, a wonderful actor, what a shame he never played the role of The Doctor, he'd have been perfect. Poor Captain Oakes, they made him such a big character, they gave him a backstory, with a real air of desperation, you really do see a man close to the edge.

8/10.
