Bang the Drum, Ashley (#1.2)

Warning: Spoilers
Will takes Ashley to her violin lessons but since she doesn't like the violin he gets her drums instead.

Another funny episode. And it is also fun to watch it now so many years later knowing that when Will Smith got Ashley and her friends sing I Got The Power it was a new hit and not more like an oldie classic.

The story is simple but still pretty good giving us some funny moments. Mainly how Will was dealing with Madame Chatchka and introduction of Jazz who gets thrown across the lawn. I also love the moment when unlce Phil runs into the room where Ashley is playing drums.

Warning: Spoilers
The daughter checks her calendar with pictures next to the words. Her calendar scroll looks beautiful.

The father instructs Will to take his daughter to violin class every Wednesday. Will picks up the kids to carpool and they all simultaneously play the violin in the car. Will purposely passes by a girl with a giant cello waiting for her ride from him.

At the violin class the girls are told to start playing by their teacher who has a heavy European accent. The girl tells Will that she doesn't like violin right now but when she is older it will be very useful.

Will and the girl has a set of drums set up in her bedroom. He has pawned her violin for the drums and antique jewellery for her parents. The mom comes into the room with a big belt accentuating her tiny waist (fashion inspiration).

Will tells the father he is controlling his little girl too much with this schedule and she is just a kid. Later the girl admits that she doesn't like neither the violin nor the drums - she just didn't want to disappoint her father and Will. The mom says she doesn't have to please anybody and the girl says she wants to quit ballet. Her mother says but she looks so cute in her tutu and follows the girl out of the room.
