Another idea for the name of the coffeehouse was "Java Joe's". This idea was later reused in this episode, when, on the picture of Nana and her own friends, Nana wrote, "Me and the gang at Java Joe's."
Nana's real name is never mentioned in the episode, but is later revealed in The One with the Embryos (1998) to be Althea.
Nana has a painting on the wall in her closet which is identical to one hanging in her bedroom.
In the final scene, Chandler is speaking to a co-worker making coffee in the break room. The coffee mug the co-worker is holding says "Provasic," which was the wonder drug to treat liver disease in The Fugitive. While they're talking, the co-worker very deliberately turns the mug around to the other side, which reads "Devlin-McGregor," the company responsible for making Provasic in the same film.
Nana has stacks of National Geographic magazines in her closet, recognizable by their yellow spines.
