  Phoebe Buffay : Pl... wait, how did you do that? Oh, you're no ordinary roomate. This shall be interesting.

  Rachel Green : [innocently]  What?

  Phoebe Buffay : [suspicious but interested]  Oh, you're no ordinary roommate are you?

• [back at Phoebe and Rachel's apartment, Rachel is sitting on the sofa in the living room as Phoebe arrives] 

  Rachel Green : [straightening her hair]  Hey. Phoebe can I talk to you for a second?

  Phoebe Buffay : Sure.

  [Phoebe walks away into her room] 

  Rachel Green : [stands up]  OK. I...

  [Rachel turns around to see that Phoebe has gone into her room] 

  Rachel Green : [walks around the back of the sofa]  Phoebe look, I just wanted to say that I'm sorry, OK? I handled the situation horribly and I should not have lied to you.

  Phoebe Buffay : [exits her room]  So what *should* you have done?

  Rachel Green : Well I-I should've told you the truth.

  Phoebe Buffay : [slowly]  Uh-huh. Which is?

  Rachel Green : Well... you know, the reason that I didn't wanna go running with you is... because um... well, you know, the way that you run is just a little...

  [Rachel waves her arms like crazy] 

  Phoebe Buffay : So?

  Rachel Green : Well it's embarrassing! People were looking at us like we were crazy!

  Phoebe Buffay : Why do you care?

  Rachel Green : Because they're *people*!

  Phoebe Buffay : But people that you don't know and will never see again.

  Rachel Green : Yes but still, they're people... with *eyes*!

  Phoebe Buffay : Well, I didn't get embarrassed running next to Miss Ch-ch-ch-ch-ch.

• Rachel Green : [talking about Phoebe's strange running style]  You guys I am telling you, when she runs she runs like a cross between Kermit the Frog and the Six Million Dollar Man.

  Dr. Ross Geller : [grinning]  Monica had *such* a crush on him. She used to kiss his poster every night before going to bed.

  Rachel Green : [delighted]  Ah! I used to do that too!

  Monica Geller : [interested]  Did you also have his album 'It's Not Easy Being Green'?

  [Rachel stares at Monica] 

  Rachel Green : [comforting]  Oh Mon!

  [Rachel leans forward, kisses Monica on her cheek and sits down] 

  Monica Geller : [quickly smiles and eagerly continues the topic]  So, Phoebe runs weird, huh?

  Rachel Green : Yeah. Yeah and you know what? I know she's gonna wanna run again. I just... I don't know how to get out of it. I mean, I live with her.

  Monica Geller : [simply]  Why don't you just... be straight with her. Tell her the truth.

  Dr. Ross Geller : [in agreement]  Huh.

  Rachel Green : [flatly]  You're right. You're right. I should just tell her the truth.

• Phoebe Buffay : I can see why running next to me would be embarrassing for you. Yeah OK. You're uptight.

  [Phoebe walks past Rachel] 

  Rachel Green : [turns around and follows Phoebe]  Wha? I-I am not upt... whoa-ho-ho-ho-ho! Listen I am not... uptight, ma'am.

  Phoebe Buffay : [assuring]  That's OK Rachel. I'm not judging you. That's just who you are.

• [Rachel runs through the park, but Phoebe is hiding behind a tree watching her and runs out, startling her] 

  Phoebe Buffay : [annoyed and upset]  Oh yeah. Uh-huh. It's me. I saw you grab your running shoes this morning and sneak out. You lied so you could run by yourself.

  Rachel Green : [protesting]  No. No Phoebe. No. I was, no. You know what? I was... I was actually just checking... to see... if I could run! And I can!

  [Rachel strikes up a straightened up pose] 

  Phoebe Buffay : [annoyed and upset]  Please Rachel. I am not an idiot.

  [Phoebe runs off] 

  Rachel Green : No wait! Phoebe!

• [Phoebe and Rachel are in the park warming up for their run] 

  Phoebe Buffay : [to Rachel]  I have to tie my shoe so you go ahead. I'll catch up.

  Rachel Green : OK.

  Phoebe Buffay : OK.

  [Rachel jogs ahead and seconds later, Phoebe overtakes her running like crazy] 

  Phoebe Buffay : [over-excited]  Come on! Let's start running! LET'S GO!

• Rachel Green : [gets up]  Phoebe come on. Can we finish this later? I wanna go running before it get's dark. Oh! Why don't you come with me?

  Phoebe Buffay : [perks up]  Really?

  Rachel Green : Yeah! Oh it'll be fun! We'll run in the park! It'll be like our... our first year roommate *bonding* thing!

  Phoebe Buffay : [excited]  OK! Let's go running!

  Rachel Green : Yeah! And there's *really* cute guys there.

  Phoebe Buffay : [more excited]  Let's run towards them!

  Rachel Green : OK!

  Phoebe Buffay : [sits down]  All right. Wait just one more second...

  [Phoebe presses the RECORD button on the voicemail] 

  Phoebe Buffay : [speaks into the device]  Hi, it's Phoebe and Rachel's. Please leave a message. Thanks!

  [Phoebe presses the STOP button and gets up] 

  Rachel Green : [shocked]  Now wait a minute! You just took ALL the words!

  Phoebe Buffay : [proudly]  Uh-huh. You've met your match Rachel Green!

• [Rachel jogs on a side-walk, then runs like crazy into the park where she meets Phoebe at a path junction and they excitedly interact while running on the spot] 

  Rachel Green : I'm so sorry! You're right! This feels great!

  Phoebe Buffay : See? And you don't care if people are staring! It's just for a second 'cause then you're gone!

  [Phoebe happily runs off and waves to Rachel] 

  Rachel Green : [starts running again then turns around and runs backwards]  Gone! I mean it's amazing Pheebs! I feel so free! So graceful!

  [Rachel turns around, runs into a park horse and falls over. The horse looks around and Rachel gets up] 

  Rachel Green : [eagerly to a passer-by]  Hey! Look out for the horse!

  [Rachel apologises to the horse rider and continues running like crazy]
