Two great things happen: we get regular Full House comedy and heart, and we get Las Vegas. I am a sucker for Vegas-y things so I loved this episode.
Because monkeys in an act get sick, Joey fills in to open up for none other than Wayne Newton. And he actually appears as himself here! A brief mention in passing about his parents not making it has the girls call Joey's father to come see him. Joey's father is a strict colonel who Joey never got along with, especially after his parents' divorce. After some fun in Vegas, Colonel Gladstone visits. He sees Joey's set and they patch things up afterwards. I really liked Joey and his dad reconciling. And it seems somewhat plausible here. Plus there's the Las Vegas glam which I can never get enough of.
