I thought that this episode was a great episode in Futurama. The whole thing is a Willy Wonka spoof, played very well. I liked how Slurms McKenzie sacrificed himself because to wanted to stop partying. The whole episode was a thrill ride, and I like the running gag that Fry is addicted to Alien, and even when he discover it came out of a big, slug-like hole he was still addicted. One of the best episodes of the early days of Futurama.

Party on!!
Tweekums28 March 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Fry has become addicted to the 31st centuries most popular soft drink; Slurm and when he hears that one can contains the 'golden bottle top' whose finder will win a trip to the planet Wormulon and get to party with the famous Slurms McKenzie he is determined that that winner will be him! He sets off with Bender and the professor's new F-Ray device to search every can but has no luck
until he gets back and helps himself to a can from the fridge and chokes on the cap. The Planet Express crew then head for Wormulon where they go on a tour of the Slurm factory and accidentally learns its revolting secret; a secret the worms will kill to protect.
This episode was clearly meant as a spoof of 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'; right down to the strange orange Grunka-Lunkas who appeared to make the Slurm. There were plenty of laughs to me had through out; particularly funny were Fry's reaction to being exposed to the F-ray and his continuing to drink Slurm even after he's learnt its shocking secret. One or two jokes fell flat such as the doors labelled 'Real Factory' and 'Fake Factory' although the good jokes far exceeded the weak ones so that can be excused. This was a good conclusion to the first DVD season; having enjoyed this season I look forward to watching the second.

If you love willy wonka, you must watch this episode.
There is a beautiful , hilarious and incredibly cute rendition of the oompa loompas.
Family guy did a homage, but it wasn't as good.
This is a really funny episode , you will enjoy it from beginning to end.
I know I did!

The One With The Slurm Factory...

Warning: Spoilers
I love this episode. I love its spin on Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and I love the disgusting-ness of Slurm's origin.
In this episode, Fry is addicted to a drink named Slurm. Slurm is having a competition, where you can win tickets to tour the Slurm Factory. So, Fry uses all of his might and eventually, he finds one of the winning soda cans. He and his friends visit the factory, but they find out the true origin of the drink. It comes out of a worm-like alien's butt. Gross. But, after being attacked and almost killed by the aliens, Fry doesn't care, but Leela and Bender do, especially after Bender was almost turned into soda cans.
Fun Fact: The name "Slurms McKenzie" is based on Budweiser's "Spuds McKenzie".
Overall, I give this episode a 10 out of 10.

Willy Wonka meets Futurama or the other way around

This might be one of my favorite episodes so far! As a big Simpsons fan for over 16 years I feel kind of guilty. I watched Futurama years ago when I was younger but I never really liked it that much. It was from the makers of The Simpsons so I had to try it but besides The Simpsons, nothing else really spoke to me, maybe Family Guy to a certain extent. When I saw that they released an 11th season and when I noticed this show has been cancelled and picked up more than any other show, I started from season one again.
Growing up I loved the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, as well as the new one with Johnny Depp. This episode was great because it was a Futurama meets Willy Wonka and makes me even more excited about the upcoming Wonka movie starring Chamalet.
Great episode with some fun ''winks'' to Wonka. Loved it!
