The killer is closer than she thinks.

Warning: Spoilers
The most prestigious guest star yet in the series is veteran film detective Dana Andrews ("Laura") as the wheelchair bound father of a disgraced detective (Michael Cole) who has turned to murder, killing criminals and crooked cops and deep in depression. Still handsome yet world weary, Andrews none the less commands his scenes with a touching performance as a one time top police sergeant saddened by his son's failure, but refusing to judge him.

Graves, as if she was preparing for a tour of "Sweet Charity", goes undercover as a dance hall hostess, deals with an overzealous gangster and the blowsy Barbara Stuart ("Bachelor Party's" hot dog lady) as the girl's supervisor. Graves gets to show more facets to Christie, compassionate to Cole even if she has to stop him. It's the psychology of how she deals with this issue that puts her in a class by herself for a touching resolution.
