The three-man singing group The Wellingtons sang the show's theme song for the first season. They were replaced by a similar sounding group, The Eligibles, for the following seasons. The Wellingtons (plus one) also portrayed 'The Mosquitoes' in this episode of the series.
Mary Ann (Dawn Wells)'s Honeybees part was dubbed with the addition of Ms Jackie DeShannon's voice. Both Tina Louise and Natalie Schafer sang their own parts.
The helicopter footage in this installment is from "When Worlds Collide" (1951).
The melody of "You Need Us" certainly stuck in the heads of the Perry Mason (1957) producers. The backing track turned up twice in the 9th season of the legal mystery series, during the 1965-66 season: "The Case of the Golden Girls (1965)" (#9.14) and "The Case of the Fanciful Frail (1966)" (#9.24).
The four members of The Mosquitoes are Bingo (the main speaker of the four - actually an actor and not a member of The Wellingtons), Bango (wearing a striped shirt), Bongo (wearing a blue shirt), and Irving (who doesn't utter one word at all).
