Girls Just Wanna Have Fun... Before They Die (#6.10)
ComedyFan201020 February 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Sophia starts having feelings for one of the men and asks Blanche for advice. Blanche helps her and Sophia ends up sleeping with the guy. She then tells him that she loves him but he doesn't respond. So Sophia ends up getting mad and leaves. Then she goes back and it turns out he just hasn't said those words since his wife died, but he does it for Sophia and there is a happy end.

Not a bad episode. I sure like how they had such a sexual episode with Sophia! This kind of story with an 84 year old doesn't happen often even at our times, unfortunately. Golden Girls are great about it by showing seniors as happy, living, humans.

And it has funny moments. Such as Rose twitching Miles' nose.

How Sophia got her groove back.

Warning: Spoilers
No sooner has Sophia gotten out of the convent then she's needing to go to confession for the physical sins she commits with the still sexy Cesar Romero as her new boyfriend, Tony Delvecchio. It's too bad that Romero doesn't get to have a scene with Harold Gould as Miles who is feeling frustrated because Rose must obtain from sex while St. Olaf is having a drought. Blanche is intrigued by the romantic possibilities for Sophia and gives her a makeover that youthens her as if she was a 69-year-old drag queen. But Sophia is hoping for a declaration of love and after not getting it, storms out on Tony. The funny switch in situations from Rose and Miles to Sophia and Tony is ironic, especially when Rose takes Blanche's advice and tweeks Miles' nose in thinking he's jealous. Sophia, looking pretty sexy in Blanche's red dress, truly becomes a vixen, and shows that sassiness doesn't end when the snow is permanently on the roof.
