- TriviaThe time-frames mentioned in this episode don't add up. At the beginning, it's reenlistment time; Sgt Carter acknowledges that Gomer's been in the Marines for three years. Later, Bunny asks Gomer how long he's been going with Lou-Ann; he replies, "Three years, eleven months and two days," or almost four years. However, Gomer didn't even meet Lou-Ann until Love's Old Sweet Song (1966), just two years ago--and he was a Marine at the time.
- Quotes
Sgt. Vince Carter: [Sgt Carter and Duke are seeing each Marine, as it's reenlistment time; Gomer is up next] What are you talking about, I've been dreading this moment. Another hitch with Pyle around I'll be a raving lunatic!
[Becomes more and more agitated]
Sgt. Vince Carter: No, somehow he's got to go. I mean it: either he becomes a civilian or I become a psycho! I put in three years, and it's aged me twelve.
[Leans down and points to his hair]
Sgt. Vince Carter: Look at that--gray hairs, three new ones. I can't even let myself think about it.
Duke Slater: How about recommending he join the Army?
Sgt. Vince Carter: Hmmm? Nah, I couldn't do that--not even to THEM!
