They're back!!

I was a massive fan of Are you being Served? and was gutted when it came to an end, but when you watch some of the later episodes, I think it's fair to say they made the right decision, it had really run out of steam. Grace and Favour manages to inject a new lease of life into the much loved show, we get the backstory, and scenes in the store, they helped give the show a direct link, we then get the same cast, in the same rank, in a new situation.

I really enjoyed this first episode, they are all in character, and all picked up exactly where they left off, Mollie in particular I thought was hilarious, the look on her face when Mr Moulterd states 'You're Rachel Yiddle,' is priceless.

Some interesting new characters, instantly I'm drawn to Mavis, and her complete and utter innocence, a really lovely performance from Fleur Bennett.

It's got the warmth of Last of the Summer Wine, but it definitely has a more cheeky vibe.

Sweet, 8/10

Are you being served...again?

Warning: Spoilers
7 years after the staff of Grace Brothers said goodbye (and sadly 'Are You Being Served?' had probably gone downhill a while before that) the key cast (sadly no Trevor Bannister) returned for this spin-off.

While the plot stretches credibility a bit (didn't any of them have any family in London who might object to them upping sticks to the country?) this first episode is actually a lot of fun.

Spin-off's are tricky to get right (for every 'Frasier' there's a 'Joey') but this series manages to find the balance between the familiar and the new, with a lot of laughs to be had along the way.

I'm glad to have discovered this series, I look forward to seeing more.
