Nothing wrong with this episode as we get a suspenseful episode where a man is accused of murder but has a strong alibi that some do not believe.
The episode centers around Melinda Miles that has been seeing this young man named Tom Potter. However Melinda's father, Harry, is dead set against the two young people having any relationship.
When Harry Miles's faithful worker, Tayloe, is gunned down after a card game with Tom, Harry believes Tom is the man that fired the gun. But Melinda tells her father that near the time of the shooting her and Tom were together under the tree out in front of the house. Harry still wants Tom dead.
When another alibi comes to light, it appears that someone else is actually the killer. Harry settles down but tells the Marshal that if Tom goes back to see Melinda he will kill him. But as they say, there is more to this story.
A very well done story plus well acted by the people involved. The story played out like a mystery as we have to guess who was the gunman that killed Tayloe in the dark alley. When the final scene appears on screen it becomes more of a tragedy that anyone could have guessed. Nice show.
NOTE- Glenn Strange appears in this episode and is credited as 'man'. It will be next season before he takes his permanent role as Sam Noonan the Long Branch bartender.
