If Lorne Greene is really a vampire, as the ending of this two part Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew episode implies, then how was it he met the Hardy brothers in broad daylight? Shouldn't he have been catching some shuteye back in his coffin?

Okay, I have to admit I really miss Jean Rasey. She brought the funny to Nancy Drew with her portrayal of George Fayne. I don't know why she didn't return but her absence saddens me.

Two part episodes back in the day often had plenty of padding to make up for lack of story. There were so many boot shots in parts one and two that I thought Nancy Sinatra was going to show up.

Instead we had Paul Williams in all his 1970s glory, which is cool. His singing eats up time and I always liked his song writing.

When the Hardy Boys hooked up with the band called Circus, I thought: "Man, the leader of the band looks like Bernie Taupin." Turns out it was Bernie. Too bad the singing in the van scene didn't feature an Elton and Bernie song (as an inside joke), instead of the fab four tune they sang.

Anyway, I was glad Mr. Cartwright was the bad guy and not the brown dirt cowboy.
