- TriviaGeorge O'Hanlon Jr. (Ned Nickerson) went on to play the recurring role of Sgt. Rafferty in Jake and the Fatman (1987), which co-starred Joe Penny (Brandon).
- GoofsWhen Nancy, George and Ned first visit the lighthouse with the policeman, it is stated in dialogue that it is supposed to be the middle of the night. However the sky is brilliant blue with clouds visible, suggesting the scene takes place in broad daylight. (In the 70s such "day for night" shooting was commonplace, but you usually didn't end up with bright blue sky in the background).
- Quotes
Professor Jack Wall: My apologies for the weather.
Nancy Drew: I'd have thought you'd be pleased. Ghosts must love this kind of night.
Professor Jack Wall: Who says so? Here, let me help you off with that.
Nancy Drew: No, I'll keep it on, if you don't mind. It's freezing in here!

The mystery of Pirate Cove
Nancy Drew and her friends see a beam of light coming from a supposedly abandoned lighthouse, and a professor tries to convince her that it is haunted. The local sheriff thinks they're imagining things, so it's up to Nancy to solve the mystery.
A good Episode with an effectively creepy lighthouse and atmosphere- it sort of like a live animation of Scooby doo with Nancy and co snooping. The setting is striking, and the set pieces too. The scene with the deluge of water breaking through the door entrance is well done. Monte Markham stars as the professor who doesn't appear all that he seems. He says looking ghosts - but in reality he's looking for treasure. Or is he?
