Just well done ep

Warning: Spoilers
It looks like a strange one kinda. There's rather little action. The scene where Mc-Garrett goes up to the parked car to see who you is pursuing he and Laura and David is action but there is no more till the climax when his former girlfriend pulls a gun.

The story makes sense enough. A politician with a truly accidental murder in his past. Attempted extortion aka blackmail to boot. Possible enough indeed. Unworthy of so much negative ratings.

There is also two great beautiful lady guest stars. One playing David's comely wife. The other ( Diane McBain) his hot old flame from his hometown. This adds a lot to the story and makes it fine viewing.

Running on fumes....

This episode was the second to last one shown of the original "Hawaii Five-O". Unfortunately, the quality of the series had slipped badly in the last two seasons and some of the worst episodes in season 12 were saved for the end--once they knew for sure that the show wasn't coming back the following season. In the case of "The Moroville Covenant", the show must have been made near the beginning of the season but was held to the end because they realized it was a turkey. How do I know this? Well, Sharon Farrell played a member of Five-O named Lori. But, after realizing that her character was awful and mostly consigned to doing grunt-work and getting coffee, she left less than halfway through the season--yet she is inexplicably back in this episode!

The show is a very talky episode about Dave Lawrence (Paul Burke). It seems that the guy has been approached by a blackmailer during his senate election campaign and then the blackmailer ends up dead. When Five-O investigates they discover two things--A LOT of people had reasons to want the guy dead and the case might have something to do with an accident that occurred 20 years earlier in Idaho.

So is this one any good? Nah...it's dull and the ending is quite silly. Not the worst of season 12 but certainly pretty awful due to ridiculous writing.
