THE HOUSE ON HAUNTED BEACH!
tcchelsey1 January 2024
Robert Sparr did a terrific job directing this mystery. It's classy and creepy. The ominous opening, which finds Arnel (Dorothy Provine) awakened in the middle of the night --but packing a gun! --has been used by many other cop shows. A great way to start any adventure.

Arnel hires Tracy to find out just who is trying to scare her to death, let alone kill her. She recently went through a messy divorce with her wealthy husband (played by Fred Beir), which cleaned him out. She got the beach house and a cool two million bucks in the settlement.

Tracy thinks its an open and shut case... but there are one or two other strange people connected to the case. If you are a movie buff, the scene with the axe may have inspired the horror flick DEMENTIA 13, or that chiller may have inspired this episode! Take your pick.

What's behind the wall? If you dare ask!

Cricket sings YOU GO TO MY HEAD, and so beautifully. Watch for it. Yes, according to production notes, Arnel's large house on the beach was the same structure used as the hotel in the Humphrey Bogart crime drama, KEY LARGO (1948).

Provine, who is perfect for this dramatic role, had previously been co-starring in THE ROARING 20S tv series. Sparr directed several episodes for both HAWAIIN EYE and 77 SUNSET STRIP, and this may be one of his very best.

Do not miss. SEASON 3 EPISODE 25 remastered Warner Brothers dvd box set.
