It's always fun to watch Robert Conrad as Tom, obviously why he landed the role of Jim West on the WILD, WILD WEST. Both tv heroes were resourceful and rolled with the punches... Just watch.
This is another excellent episode, although somewhat familiar. Tom has a beautiful model to contend with, but with baggage, tied to some waterfront scoundrals connected to thousands of dollars in mission money. Greedy is as greedy does. Sherry Jackson (DANNY THOMAS SHOW) who plays Joan, makes a good partner for Tom, and it's a shame she was not added to the cast.
Also on board is Grace Lee Whitney (as Marcia), armed and dangerous. John Dehner, who always made a super villain, plays Joan's Uncle Ismael, also packing a rod. Dennis Patrick (DARK SHADOWS) is also seen peeking around corners. He's a must see. Catch the mysterious background music in this one.
Some classic old songs to be heard; Cricket sings the Andrews Sisters 1942 hit BEI MIR BIST DU SCHOEN, which in German means "To Me, You are Beautiful". In the smoke-filled waterfront cafe you can hear the band play "You Must have Been A Beautiful Baby!" Watch the burlesque lady dancing on stage!
Interestingly, written by Charles Smith, who played Dizzy in the HENRY ALDRICH movies of the 40s. Smith wrote six episodes for the series, and did a fine job of it.
