LITTLE MISS RICH AND THE BIG HEIST!
Not bad little caper story, directed by veteran George Waggner, who actually specialized in horror films, such as THE WOLF MAN back in the day.
Special guest star is pretty Janet Lake as Mimi, who takes Greg and Tracy for a fast ride. Mimi is a spoiled, arrogant wealthy lady who gets her kicks stealing.
She certainly doesn't need the money, but it's just the thrill. Her next big caper is a jewelry store, and she has help. Are you ready?
The BIG surprise here is crusty Charles Lane, playing Mimi's "partner in crime" called Crosby. This episode has to be a first with Lane playing a really desperate character who packs a gun! Generally, Charles Lane played scowling bosses and the like, but I do not think I ever saw him trying to shoot someone!
Watch this episode just for that. As always, he turns in a solid performance.
Cricket has a special scene, singing "The Love Nest" above a doll house. The song may sound familiar as it was the theme for the BURNS AND ALLEN tv show.
Good trivia question!
Wait for the ending, and the stakeout... Mimi impatiently waiting to get her hands on the jewelry. A dark comedy ending. Janet Lake is excellent in this role, who appeared four times on the show, also on SURFSIDE 6 and 77 SUNSET STRIP.
SEASON 3 EPISODE 6 remastered Warner Brothers dvd box set. And many thanks to ME TV for re-running these classic episodes.
