"The Servant" opens with Hawkeye and Chingachgook finding a lone woman wandering in dangerous Huron territory, Bridget Mullaney (Iris Krangle, first of two), a runaway bond servant from Ireland sold to local frontiersman Matt Stark (Len Ontkean, second of seven). She explains how she signed a piece of paper without knowing what it meant, and fears being taken back to a life of work and beatings. A visit to Sheriff James Nicholson (Daryl Masters, first of seven) leads to an introduction to leading citizen Jonathan Travers (Chris Wiggins, third of six), both of whom promise to help any way they can. In trying to ferret out the one responsible for selling the girl into slavery, Hawkeye poses as a buyer for another bond servant, resulting in the cold blooded murder of trading post clerk Simmons (Hugh Watson, first of six). The key to ending Bridget's days of misery is the lurking presence of Huron Pelu (Bob Vanstone, first of three), whom she remembers as being present for her docking in America. Both John Hart and Lon Chaney go toe to toe with the villains for the climactic fisticuffs.
